• The full title of this book IS absolutely THE DAMNATION OF LEANDER WELLES; Or, the Death and Life of Bennett Reeve because Bennett demanded it. It's his book, after all.

• Bennett demanded a lot of things. Like, taking a M/F story and making it M/M. For more on that saga, you can read all about it on my FAQ page.

• There were two sources of inspiration for the murder husbands—Hannigram (Hannibal+Will Graham) from the TV show Hannibal and the Lions of Tsavo, a pair of male lions who killed anywhere from 28 to 135 people in 1898 Kenya. That's the reason Bennett and Leander have their meeting in front of the lions' display at the Field Museum.
